Bear Necessities Volume 34
Earlier today we gathered in the Reception Room to celebrate Daniela Perez '26 committing to continue her academic and athletic career at Beloit College.
It is always special to host these celebrations and recognize the dedication and hard work it takes for a student-athlete to continue competing at the collegiate level. Less than 3% of high school athletes go on to compete at the next level, making this accomplishment even more meaningful. It was amazing to gather together everyone who were a part of her journey from her coaches, teammates, friends, faculty, staff, and most importantly, her family. As the ceremony was winding down, she had the opportunity to connect with her coaches, who shared guidance and wisdom about what to expect at the next level. From summer conditioning to practice expectations, they offered support and praise while reminding her that being a college student-athlete is not easy. They emphasized that through the challenges and discomfort, she will learn a lot about herself and continue to grow both on and off the court.
Daniela Perez '26 is not only a tremendous athlete, but also a hardworking student, teammate, and leader on and off the court. I am excited to follow her journey and know she will continue to make an impact as a Buccaneer.
