Mercy Shuts Down Terra Nova
On Friday the Bears delivered a dominant performance, defeating Terra Nova 12-0 behind an explosive offense and strong pitching. Fatafehi Alusa '29 led the way with a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with singles in the first, second, and third innings, including a two-RBI hit that helped fuel a big second inning. Mercy got on the board early in the first, as Andrea Martin '26 and Charlotte Kell '28 each brought in a run to set the tone. The Bears broke the game open in the second inning, scoring five runs on four hits. Kathleen Graupera '27 added an RBI single. Charlotte Kell '28 and Isabel Reburiano '28 also contributed, each drawing bases-loaded walks to bring runs home. Mercy added another run in the third, with Alusa battling through a six-pitch at-bat before delivering an RBI single to center.
In the circle, Charlotte Kell '28 was outstanding, earning the win after allowing just two hits over four scoreless innings while striking out five. Olivia Eastburn '29 came in to secure the save and close out the shutout victory.
Mercy's offense tallied 11 hits on the day, with Fatafehi Alusa '29 and Olivia Eastburn '29 each collecting three hits. Andrea Martin '26 and Vivianna Reyes '28 also added multiple hits, helping power the lineup.
