Cheer Season Recap
This year, our cheer team soared to new heights as they found their stride both on the sidelines and on the competition mat. Their energy, precision, and commitment were evident all season long.
During competition season, the team debuted in a new category—Friday Night Lights (FNL)—and with each performance continued to sharpen and perfect their routine. Their hard work paid off in a big way, capturing first-place finishes at both the Battle at the Capitol and the Friday Night Lights competition. Meanwhile, Show Cheer made its season debut at the Branham and CCS competitions. For the first time in program history, the team advanced to the CIF State Finals, where they delivered a strong performance and finished 5th overall, an incredible milestone for the program.
At Nationals, Show Cheer battled through two days of competition, increasing both their difficulty and overall point total, ultimately finishing 6th. It is worth noting just how far this program has come as last year their routine was battling for a starting value of 88 and this year we started with a 91 and after a few changes a 92. That speaks to the leadership on the team, specifically our senior captains who have been with the program all four years. Thank you to Jonaya and Ella not just for this year but all four years. Friday Night Lights capped off the weekend by bringing home the hardware with an impressive 3rd-place finish.
From new divisions to state finals appearances and national podium finishes, this season was defined by growth, confidence, and a team that continued to raise the standard every time they took the mat.
