Dance Season Recap
Our Dance Team put together one of the most successful seasons during my time here at Mercy. From start to finish, they were consistently in contention at every competition while most importantly embracing each moment and competing with confidence and joy.
As always, the foundation for the season began in the summer. Coach Jhyl did an outstanding job preparing the team, focusing on both individual growth and collective success. That preparation was evident right away.
At their first competition, West Coast Elite, the Bears made an immediate statement, finishing 3rd place overall as a team. They carried that momentum into their second competition at USA NorCal Regionals, where they earned a 1st-place team finish. In their final competition of the season, the Bears once again rose to the occasion, finishing 1st place in Hip Hop as a team.
Individually, there were also standout performances. Makenna captured 1st place among all juniors for her solo performance, while senior captain Kaylee Custodio finished 7th place with her solo. Beyond her individual success, Kaylee's leadership as captain was instrumental all season long, helping guide and steady the team each competition weekend.
It was a remarkable season defined by preparation, poise, and pride, one that reflects the continued growth and strength of the Mercy Dance program.
