Bear Necessities Volume 19
Mercy Soccer held its annual beach practice on Saturday, and the weather could not have been better for a beach tournament. Five teams, each made up of three players, competed in group play, with every team facing each other once. Based on points earned during group play, the teams advanced into a tournament bracket.
Beyond the competition, the day was a great opportunity for team bonding, spending quality time together off the turf, building connections, and getting to know teammates in a relaxed and fun environment. Moments like these help strengthen team chemistry and create lasting memories that carry over into the season.
After a competitive and entertaining day of beach soccer, the team made up of Maya Oca '29, Savanah Aguayo '29, and Layla Rios '29 emerged as the ultimate champions. To cap off a great day, the team celebrated with a trip to Taco Bell, where the champions redeemed their free lunch for winning the tournament. Thank you to our coaches for continuing our traditions and prioritizing skills, sun, and sand before the team starts league play this week.
