Bear Necessities Volume 15

This past Wednesday, our soccer program gathered on the pitch to welcome back our alumnae for a friendly match. As former players made their way onto the field, the energy was immediate. Smiles, hugs, and memories filled the sidelines as they reconnected with one another and prepared to meet our current Bears.

I was thrilled to have 10 eager alumnae join us this year. Before kickoff, they took a moment to introduce themselves to our current athletes, sharing class years and positions. 

The alumnae showed they still had plenty of talent left in their boots, striking first, and then doubling their lead with a second goal. In the second half, the Bears answered back to tighten the game. The MVP of the afternoon was Dr. CB, who suited up in goal and stunned the entire sideline with a full-extension diving save that secured the Alumnae the victory. Later that evening our Basketball Alumnae suited up for a fun outing against our current team. The girls traded baskets and smiles as they hit the hardwood. These events captured the true beauty of sports, how they bring us all together. I am already looking forward to hosting this gathering again next year in our own gymnasium!
